The Hours Between Everyone Else’s Shifts
Denise Thrower started helping care for children long before it became her profession.
As a child, she watched other people’s kids because families around her needed help. Years later, that instinct grew into something much bigger: a home-based childcare operation serving families most childcare systems struggle to accommodate.
Contracted workers leaving before sunrise.
Traveling nurses commuting long distances.
Parents working second and third shifts.
Families without grandparents nearby.
Schedules that change week to week.
The hours between everyone else’s shifts became Denise’s responsibility.
This is Denise Thrower’s Moment of Truth.
